Just realised the above pic is not in order. I am too lazy to fix it. I spent time making a beautiful collage, so just look at it and enjoy it xox
- Pho. The classic noodle soup, can be served with chicken or beef, beef is better imo. Herbs (usually mint), bean sprouts, lemon and hoi sin sauce.
- Bun Bo Hue. Another noodle soup, usually derived from scrimp paste. This is actually so tasty the way my momma makes it.
- Che Ba Mau. This is a dessert, basically translates to three colour drink, usually something green, something coconutty (made that word up- definitely a thing now) and a green bean thing with shaved ice and you mix it up with a straw or spoon.
- Goi cuon; Rice Paper rolls. My mum makes it with prawns, pork belly, cucumbers, lettuce and mint leaves with peanut butter/hoi sin dipping sauce.
- Com tam. Broken rice with a meat, usually has egg, or that stringy meat thing i forgot whats it called.
- Com ga da gion- Vietnamese crispy skin chicken. Usually served with tomato rice, sliced cucumbers and tomatoes, fish sauce (nuc mam) and a small bowl of soup.
- Banh mi thit. A baguette with cha-which is this meat thing, more meat (usually pork), mayo, pate, coriander, cucumber.. French influence I guess.
- Nem nuong. Meat on a stick, usually served with vermicelli noodles or eaten alone
- Rau ma (drink). So refreshing. It's made from blending these leaves. idk what/sorry
- Bo la lot. This type of leaf wrapped around meat served on a stick and then cooked. It's actually quite tasty.
+ More but whatev. Those are my favs. You'd probably find better explanations of the food, compared to my shitty descriptions HAHAH
