Best moment of my life (so far)

This is the exact beach we walked on.

Feeling a tad bit nostalgic right now. Don't get me wrong, I've had plenty of perfect moments, maybe the ones I want to re-live/or not because it's run its course, you know those short memories that you might get when you die and have a continuous but one second flashback? I'm talking about those. (I'll perhaps share another time) But I chose this one. This is a pretty silly and personal story.




The best moment in my life so far, was after I graduated from high school, me and 4 other friends decided to go camping north of NSW. We walked to the beach at night, saw a surreal sky full of stars, caught hermit crabs, boiled that hermit crab, and got drunk.

But the best part was none of that, it was actually storming outside and our tent collapse, drenched with water, so all five of us were practically forced to sleep and huddle in Alec's four wheel drive, but we stayed up and had a group sing along.

We ended up singing Christmas songs for some reason, songs like All I want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey and trying to reach the high notes…(even though it wasn't Christmas, not even remotely close) and Danny searched Christmas songs on YouTube -on his phone, and I suggested to put "Dubstep remix" after it.. And this one song came up.. It had all this build up and right before the big bass drop the lyrics were "Merry fucking Christmas", which proceeded with shitty Dubstep. At that EXACT moment we all died of laughter.

I'm not sure why it was a good moment, I guess we were the youngest that we could have been at the time, with my newfound best friends, just a bunch of graduated reckless teenagers having a laugh and singing/shouting/yelling abruptly. I felt carefree and I felt myself (It's such a vague adage, but not in a sexually contrivance, like in a epithinal-self-aware-pyschologically kind of way)

It just proves when things go bad, they can actually turn out OK. (or even better)

I think our song was "We are young" by Fun, we basically yelled the entire song, whenever I hear that song I think of that night.

It's an inside joke now. I won't forget it.
