We planned to take an Uber ($40 discount, that's what's up! it's an app for a taxi service kind of thing but it's their own car- which we later found out had to be older than 2006 model. But that's another story we'll get there soon..) to the venue at Oh Hello which is a nightclub at the Valley, but there was absolutely none around, so we took the bus and then got off somewhere at Annerley to take it.
We got to the venue early, stamped (which was weird because they didn't check our names), and walked in and it was CROWDED AS FUCK. We quickly headed out and had dinner at Wagaya. Me and Mich were gonna order some alcoholic drinks but she accidently ordered the non alcoholic..we had takoyaki and sushi. Thursday night, no reservation, 10 minute wait, not bad.
Afterwards, we headed back, still crowded as fuq, The bar was crowded as well. kinda confused as to where the fashion show actually was but we saw it, and we stood, but there were some tall people in front of us.
The first 10 minutes were just staring at the male model's faces. In three quick words I'll do my best to describe it: So asymmetrical, so man bun, so vampire. Also they all had sharp jawlines and defined cheekbones, and eyebrows on point. We all were biased with the first guy, he had a perfectly asymmetrical face. But I'm sure they were wearing a little makeup.. surely..
I might have some of the designers mixed up, but here are the photos I took:
Young Summer is Brisbane’s newest fashion show, with the objective of promoting young and upcoming local designers. Whether they specialise in clothing or accessories, Young Summer 2015 promises a high standard in its means of promoting their brand to the younger market. So far, there are expressions of interest from various designers of men’s and women’s clothing alike, as well as men’s shoes and women’s jewellery. The inclusion of the word ‘Summer’ in the name reflects the choice of theme for the show, which is complimented by a summer cocktail dress code. The show itself is set to be a sophisticated, high-class event appealing to the mature younger audience from ages 18-30. Additionally, the show will feature separate categories based on price level and design of clothing.

At the end of the show all the people behind the scenes came out, and I saw the director of the event, Andre and shook his hand (Because I saw other people do it) HAHAHHA yeah.
I was also randomly standing next to Skye. And some photos with her :)
Was it worth $15? Probably not. But it was a good experience nevertheless.

The best way to avoid disappointment is to have the lowest expectations, that way you won't be that bummed about it.
