3 Bamboo Review

Went here for Mother's day. It's a Chinese seafood restaurant. There were a lot of people. Get ready for criticism, it's only my duty as an Asian to judge asian restaurants.

First thoughts: Doesn't look aesthetically pleasing to the eye inside or out. The interior designer inside me is appalled. The restaurant had paper signs hung with sticky tape. All around the walls.
However, I remember someone once said that the more dirtier the store, the more authentic the food is.

The crab.
We first ordered a crab dish, it was okay, just a bit too salty for my liking.

Combination seafood
I don't know why we keep ordering combination seafood in restaurants. It tastes so mediocre and just tiring. And the fried rice was one of the worst I've ever tasted; no flavour at all and the rice itself is sorta hard and just ..eh..

Abalone.
First time trying abalone. And it was great. The sauce with ginger and garlic was good as well. And the onions. Went perfectly together. This is the only dish that was good so far.

I didn't take a photo but we ordered a whole steamed fish that arrived late, we forgot we even ordered it, but it so moist, tasted AMAZING, perfection and it was the best dish of the day.

The bill was a bit around $150. I rather spend that on buying 150 small fries from maccas and having a feast. No, sorry, too harsh, it really wasn't THAT bad, but that plan does sound good.

Overall
  • Below average quality
  • Nice steamed fish! top dish!
  • Fresh seafood that's kept in fishtanks out the front which is always cool

1.9/5. Disappointed but the fish was good.
