Purple hair toners can be very $$, that's why I'm here ~ surprise ~ to tell you an easy alternative to manage those brassy hairs away! Fear not gurlies/guylies!
Use to remove orange/brassy tones from bleached hair.
You'll need:
- Hair
- Patience
- Blue food colouring- about $1 at your local supermarket
- White conditioner or leave in treatment/hair mask- I used Pantene's Intensive treatment
- Optional: Disposable food gloves in your kitchen
- Mixing bowl/empty ice cream tub/plate/newspaper. Just any surface you don't mind getting messy.
- Brush thing- mine was a couple of bucks from a hair shop.
Without further or do, let's get started:
- Add a few drops blue colouring (1-2) into a mixing bowl and mix with the bottom end of the brush thing
- Mix till it sorta becomes a pale blue ~ The colour I mixed was an ugly green, i accidently used too much green. But you can sorta play around with the ratios.
- Apply to hair, just slap it on and even it out
- Leave it in and wait like 15-20 minutes. You can put on a shower cap if you want. And wander about
- Wash it out. This step looks very cool. Done. Voila! It will be really soft too ~~~
* You could also add drops to your shampoo and conditioner for everyday use.
* 2 drops of blue, 1 drop of green and 1 drop of red to make a bluish/purple shade.
