Bonsai Botanika Review

Spontaneous last-minute cafe trip!

Next to Topshop/across from Starbucks.

Went to Bonsai Botanika, I've been meaning to go to this cafe every time I walk past it because it looks really quaint and finally it happened!

The interior decor looks really cool.

We were standing around for like 2 minutes, waiting, the barista was just making her drinks...until my friend came up and ordered a drink. I think a small greeting would have been nice.

We went upstairs to sit but went down again, because it looks better down.
But they had a bar, Japanese food upstairs and ramen on the 3rd level. But we came for the coffee...perhaps another time.

It was a hot day that day so I ordered a mocha manschy with dark chocolate ($6.50) it's like a frappe/blended ice thing. It was actually really good!! But, the only weird details I noticed was the rice bubbles and thyme for decoration ~was a little bit unnecessary as I ended up accidently tasting the thyme in my drink at the end.

My friend ordered the matcha green tea iced drink ($5.20, was not great, total flop.)

However, the Swiss white chocolate flourless cake made up for it.
A little bit on the pricey side ($8 a small slice). Expensive, but delicious. The cake was heavenly and decadent.

The cake was sweet and the sauce (lemony) went perfect with it!

Ahh.. looking out and thinking bout life

Overall, reasonably priced coffee and drinks menu, close to the city, visually appealing. I'd go here again if I need a cold iced coffee fix. OK service. Good but expensive cake.

3/5 ★★★☆☆

Bonsai Botanika on Urbanspoon

After we went to Elizabeth arcade and walked around the small boutiques and then went to a small book shop called "Cash for books", near Pancake manor.. it's easily missed, but inside it's all very vintage and smelt of old books. We discovered a back section.

That's all, anyway BYE!
