Eat Street Markets

After quite a romantic ferry ride with a still aurora sky and the wind blowing through my hair hanging onto a bar on the front of the boat enjoying the ride and the titanic-esque moments we headed to the last stop, Brett's Wharf at Hamilton. It was quite a long, tiring walk with my friend, but would be good for a date or something because it was a walk along the river.

There were a lot of food trucks and the place was lined with stalls. From Hungarian food, to Vietnamese; food where people wore rice paddy hats and played French music. Argentian food, German sausages, Crepes, Cronuts, Milky buns! You name it. Foodie heaven.

SO MANY CHOICES. WHAT TO CHOOSE??!?!

Macademia cakes
A gluten-free sweets stall was packing up for the night and so they were giving away food for free. The cake was heavenly and decadent, such a great texture! SCORE

My friend got honey puffs which were these deep-fried sweet balls (Nice.) Don't really know how to describe it. It's sorta got this semi-crunchy exterior similar to Banh Cam (which is a Vietnamese dessert, but only similar in the pastry).

Here's a messy photo.

I got Peruvian food at Little Lady Peruvian Cuisine. It's Seafood Paella (rice) with calamari, fish,  red onion, chorizo and grated cheese. I just thought "oh cool, I've never tried that before!" and there was a long line out the front of the stall so I thought it might be popular.

Honestly, worst $14 I've ever spent. Save yourself that money, because there are better foods for less. Do not recommend at all (unless you want your breath to smell like fish and onions- yum sounds very sexy -) SOZ NOT SOZ

The calamari was not as chewy as I imagined, the paella was just not great, the flavours weren't great either. Didn't enjoy it. I asked my brother and his GF if he tried it, and he said yes and it wasn't that good.  They laughed at me, I felt like I was being tricked.

So I only ate half of it. I also ordered 1 litre of iced tea for $7 at Hierba Santa Organic and shared it with my friend. It was pretty good and refreshing. Because I ate chili in my friend's Pad Thai. And shit went down real quick. And I can't handle that much chili.

It was rainy, at around 7PM but there were still a lot of people. Just less than usual.

Anyway, it was alright. Next time I'll bring more money and order something different.
$2 entry fee? Screw it. Go walk behind a large group (TIP: advantageous if you're Asian) or put random coins in if you're stingy like me- but I prefer to call that being economically efficient?.. Whatever that means.

Stay gold ponyboy!
