West End Sushi Station Buffet

Went to West End Sushi Station Buffet, located at West End on Saturday night for dinner around 6pm. It was very quiet and we were the ONLY ones in. (Probably because 6 o'clock dinner is so early) but during the night there were 2 other groups.

The seating areas and decor were very simplistic. The buffet area itself was kind of small. All the sushis were displayed nicely. ALL YOU CAN EAT, are 4 words to excite me.

My first dish consisted of salmon sushi, Inarizushi (sushi in a bean bag) which is like a sweet tofu skin and rice, this one had seaweed. And chicken, and some other.. seafood salad thing.

My second dish consisted of a gyoza, salmon, tempura prawn and a fried chicken. The gyoza tasted like cream cheese for some reason even though it was mince. The tempura crumb was not crunchy probably because it has been out for a bit. And the fried chicken was the absolute fucking bomb. Nice and crisp, beautifully flavoured, a little fatty that I like.

My third dish. Egg, avocado, chicken and another Inari- I didn't like the filling..and miso soup. I was full by this time. The only dessert were jelly and oranges. And drinks were water and tea. However, the soup was kinda nice. Otherwise all the sushi were subpar, but good enough to satisfy me. And with $20 for dinner and $15 for lunch, you'd kinda expect it. I would go here again though for the love of cheap things, unlimited food and fried chicken.

Overall

  • OK sushi. Nothing special. Just ok.
  • Awesome fried chicken. awesome soup.
  • UNLIMITED FRIED CHICKEN FTW
  • Cheap as chips.
  • Needs more dessert. Otherwise it was all good.
